The Truth About Insanity Max: 30- My Experience!!!

Insanity max 30 has been the toughest workout completed today. I mean I literally wanted to get up give up everything will day and although I only have three workouts lift is still hard to push through.
Struggles are real and no matter how long you’ve been doing something there is always room for improvement. I’d like to say I am going to push myself to do this program again (back to back) but truth is I’m honestly not sure I’m ready for that.
My main focus right now is getting my nutrition 100% under control. I have spurts where I’m on task to the letter and I see numbers drop and then something seems to come up distracting me and getting me completely off task. In January, I stayed on task and did not deviate and then The Super Bowl came. After The Super Bowl, my cycle came, which seemed to cause more deviations and I haven’t really been back on track (food wise) since.
Starting today I will be making a meal plan that I know I can’t stick to and that I know will not be boring or repetitive.
Step one is admitting that the first program I chose for the year was amazing but was not for me. It’s an advanced workout and although I can and do push myself it was still a little too tough for me and I will not make the same mistake.
My next program starting March 6th will be between 21 Day Fix, T-25, Rockin’ Body, or Core De Force. I plan on finishing with flying colors and being down at least 10lbs (mark my words… this is my accountability)!!!

Insanity Max: 30… Month One

During month one, I almost gave up on day two because I believed that I needed a workout that would be easier. I even told my coach LaShona that I was going to switch because I felt I need more cardio and something that would be more fun and most exciting to come back to day in and day out. I was going to switch to a dance program.

Day theee came and all I could do was press play on Insanity Max: 30. Why, you ask?! Well my answer is I am better than that! I don’t take the easy way out and even if I had to do the modifier (an easier/ low impact version of the exercise) 95% of the time it was worth the push.

I am proud to share with you today that yesterday I finished month one of the program and today I started month two. I am also proud to share with you that I have lost 8lbs and 18″ just by NOT giving in and not giving up.
How many times do we talk ourselves out of doing something that will better our lives just to be comfort able? All the time and I know because that we to be the rabbit hole I would consistently climb down for the sake of remaining in my comfort zone.

What are you holding yourself back from today? Me?! Well I am holding myself back from true success because I don’t believe I am skinny enough. However, today I am taking steps towards trusting my purpose, which is to inspire young women to become the best, improved, and most confident them yet!!!

||My Why||

Today is the day I have really determine what I am doing all of this work for. For a while, I asked myself why? “I’m always going to be fat, I’m just meant to be bigger, I just can’t do it”, and so much more. Going a whole year fighting for my life to lose weight, better my marriage, better my intellect, and better myself spiritually (but never really had a why). All I could ever hope for was to have a baby, and although that is an amazing and legitimate reason, it wasn’t enough for me and it definitely couldn’t be the only reason.
Today I can say with confidence that I am on this journey for my health, first. I can do no good if I am constantly sick, hurting, or struggling to get around. Secondly, I do it to show my husband that being healthy is better for us both (which after about six months he finally caught on). Third, Nick and I want a family of our own. I personally want to physically carry a child (which will come to pass because my God has promised me) and Nicholas to be healthy enough to be the best father possible. Lastly, I am on a journey to help inspire other women to take the first step in repairing their physical bodies, minds, and souls, by exercising, reading and studying The Word of God.
This photo not only shows just how far I have come but it also shows my dedication and strength to continue on where I’m going. My journey is far from over, it’s actually more like just beginning now that I know the real why behind my daily fight.

The Compound Effect

Today let’s talk about why the little things really do matter. Let’s talk about the ripple effect we can get from the choices we make, called the compound effect.
It is my belief that the sooner we begin to consciously make small changes in our actions the larger the reward.
Our outcomes are results of our moment-to-moment choices. Since by changing our choices we have incredible power to change our lives, it’s important to make the day-to-day changes into habits, habits into practice, and practice into permanent lifestyle choices.
Many times instant gratification keeps us making the same unhealthy choices because our minds can’t focus on the long-term consequences of those choices. Instead, our mind is only focused on how “good” those poor choices make us feel in the moment.
In short, patience is the key to lasting success. When we follow a day-to-day plan, results will follow. We can work hard for seven days straight and still not see any change or progress. In my opinion, that is where faith comes in. If we know what we are doing is going to produce lasting results we must believe. We have to know that just because we can’t tangibly see it doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.
Do you have goals you want to achieve? Do you want to live the life you’ve always dreamed of? If so, I have four challenges for you:
1. Get a simple line or blank sheet of paper and write down five goals for 2017.
       2. With the list in hand (or on desk), right down three choices for each goal that will compound over time helping you move closer to your accomplishment of those goals. Please (I say please, but this is solely for you… Do what works for you) stay away from writing down things that can potentially take you further away from what you want to accomplish.
       3. Review each of your five goals and the three choices per goal (you should have 15 choices total). As you are reviewing, determine how you can make these changes every day for the next 30 days. Once you have those changes down and have been completing them for 30 days consistently, they each will become much easier to sustain long-term.
       4. Buy, read, listen, and meditate over Darren Hardy’s book, The Compound Effect… You won’t be sorry!!!

Financial Freedom

Financially, I have lived with the mind of poverty, paycheck to paycheck, believing that every cent that I make must be spent before I get more money. I know, I know, please don’t scold me, that thought process is all wrong and actually quite absurd.
This is the first year that I have actually wanted to put money into a savings account, so guess what, that’s exactly what I am going to do. This year I want to do something that is going to last and have a huge impact on the saving abilities of my future and that will also continue to build as time progresses.
As of today, I have added $25.64 in savings. That is not my balance (Thank God) but it is what I have saved in the year 2017.
I’m sure you all have heard of the 52-week savings challenge, where you add the same amount of dollars as the week of the year it is. For example, since it is the second week of the year you would add two dollars and should have a total of three dollars in savings today. Me, on the other hand, made a very fun spread in my Bullet Journal with a piggy bank and coins that have each week number of the year written on them. I have decided that I’m not going to go in any specific order but make sure I add something from at least one coin and color that in each week.
Unfortunately, I am a week behind because instead of coloring the $12 and $13 coins I colored the $25 coin which is totally fine I will definitely catch up with no questions asked. By the end of 2017, I will have saved $1378 if I follow the plan completely. If not I will have saved more.
In six months from now, I will give you an update (with picture) on where my savings account stands and how I’m doing on my 52-week challenge. If you want to join in START NOW (it won’t be easy but it will be worth it) or if you have a savings method that you use yourself please share that with me and let me know how you stay on track. We’re all meant to win, so let’s go get on our roads to Financial Freedom!

2017: New Year, New Goals, Better Me

Well, it is 10 days into 2017 and I want to share with you what my goals are. Of course, because they concern you (my avid readers). I know I know you have probably seen a number of these posts already but guess what… You haven’t seen this one. Goals are important. They help set a plan in place and they help keep a tab on where you are each day, each week, & each month. Keeping track of said goals will help to keep us moving and improving. Without further ado, here are my goals for 2017!

  1. Building My Relationship With God. I already love God with everything in me. However, I can sincerely say that He deserves WAYYYY more of my time (that I wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for Him, .to begin with.
  2. Building My Marriage. For about 3 of the 5 years of my marriage, I was lazy, rude, and disrespectful. Now I want to build from these last 2 years that have been amazing.
  3. Healthy Eating & Exercise. In 2016 I lost about 60lbs and that was amazing and I feel great, but I was off track more than I was on. In 2017 I want to do the absolute opposite and be on track majority if not all of the year. I also want to lose 100lbs this year.
  4. My Business. In 2017 I want to make sure that I am giving my absolute all. I want to make sure that I am being consistent and not looking back on the goals that I have on becoming successful by moving my business forward.
  5. Read More Books (or listen because I love audio books). I want to read or listen to at least one book a week, but realistically I will shoot for two a month. That means at the end of the year, I should be able to share the 24 books or more that I read in 2017.
  6. Blog More. I have a goal to post at least once a week (but would prefer twice a week). My post will include life, my family, my weight loss journey, my reading journey, & Bullet Journaling.

Well, here it is. Everything is written out and ready for me to tackle full force this year. I am so glad to be back writing and I am excited to see what this year has in store for me. All I can do is pray that it is a great one because 2016 could have been so much better. Thank you for taking the time to read through my goals.
