3-Point Checklist: True Friend

1.) A true friend will enter into your experience

What this means is that a true friend will not allow a long distance friendship. Those friendships where they keep their distance and say “I’ll pray for you.” You don’t need friends that are going to just “pray for me” you need a friend that’s going to show up.
This means you don’t need a friend who is only going to stand with you when things are looking good or only when you are right/ doing right. You need a friend that is going to stand with you even when your choices are a little shaky or your decisions are little questionable. I’m not saying they condone your mishaps, I’m just asking that they not be condemning.

If you have one of those friends who are always there with their hands out but when you are down they are nowhere to be found, I suggest you to put a check mark by their name and reevaluate if that person is your true friend.

2.) The true friend will encourage you to endure.

This means that a true friend is there to give you a helping hand to get you back on track. It is important that I don’t allow someone in my life who is going to come around with the wrong type of negative energy.
A true friend is not going to make you feel worse off than you already do. You don’t need an analysis of what is wrong with you. You just need a friend who is going to show up and encourage.

If you have one of those friends who is always making you’re already questionable situation worse by adding unneeded discomfort and negativity I suggest you put a checkmark by their name and reevaluate of that person is your true friend.

3.)A true friend is not envious of your elevation.

This means no matter what God does in your life a true friend is going to be happy for you and they’re going to want to be right next to you.
A true friend, the one who technically should have received a blessing before you, is not going to be upset by your gain. Instead, they are going to celebrate with you and realize that their time is coming.

If you have one of those friends who is always jealous or envious of the blessings that you gain I suggest you put a checkmark by their name and reevaluate of that person is your true friend.
